End Of Life Care

What To Expect

One of the most difficult choices we face as loving pet parents is deciding when it’s time to say goodbye to our beloved family member. Whether your pet is facing a terminal illness or is in consistent pain that is affecting their quality of life, euthanasia can offer your pet relief from further suffering.

Peaceful euthanasia offers a compassionate transition for a pet who may otherwise be suffering. Your veterinarian is the best person to consult with you on when the time is right to consider pet euthanasia services. At easyvet, our veterinarians are trained to provide gentle and humane end-of-life services so you can feel at peace. If you are able, we request that you call ahead when bringing a pet in for euthanasia. This ensures that we’ll be able to have a private room so your family can say goodbye peacefully and privately.

Once you arrive, we often administer a sedative to ensure a stress-free experience for your pet. If you’d like, we can keep your pet for aftercare or you may take them with you for your own arrangements. We can ensure that your pet will not experience any pain or discomfort during the process. Our goal at easyvet is to make the experience as peaceful as possible for both you and your pet. We make sure your family has time to say their goodbyes and we will guide your family through the process every step of the way.

Dealing With Grief

It’s natural to feel sorrow and discomfort when going through the grieving process after a pet passes. Below are a few steps you can take to cope with grief:

  • Acknowledge your grief and give yourself time and permission to express it
  • Contact your veterinarian or local humane society and see whether they offer a pet-loss support group or hotline
  • Prepare a memorial service and remember the fun and love you shared with your pet
  • Rely on your loved ones for support
  • Look after yourself by staying active, going outside, and engaging with others in your community

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, you can easily find an easyvet location. Our veterinarians and team are here to help you and your family through this difficult process.
